Viewmalaysia.com A Scam?

Category: Travel
Founder: Unknown (No contact listed on website except it says 'Trademark of Zool')
Website: www.viewmalaysia.com

Is the View Malaysia membership a scam? If you are an internet surfer based in Malaysia, you may have come across some ads about a holiday discount website called ViewMalaysia. You may even be tempted to join. I joined the Account A on Aug 2006, put some ads everywhere around the web to promote them and just forget about them.

I went back to check my balance recently. I noticed I have some balance to be redeemed after more than 2 years joining (I joined in 2005 as an Account B holder). I requested to redeem at the end of Oct 2007. So after a few days the status of my request was still pending.

I contact them via email but to no avail. The answers they gave sounds to me like they never even read what I wrote. They just ask me to refer to the website. What is wrong with writing a few words to explain their delay? From then on I started to search on Google about other complains about viewmalaysia.

The forum post below was posted on View Malaysia Forum by a user named "RM1_TOUR", who joined on 07 Oct 2006 and he has posted 12 times previously. This post was posted on 31st Oct and on Nov 3rd, it was gone from the board. Thanks to Google cached facility, I was able to extract what was written by the author. I don't know if more was written about this problem but was immediately censored by the moderator/admin of viewmalaysia.

hati-2 sebelum nak join viewmalaysia ni"

So if posting on their forum will obviously get your post deleted, let us see how they respond here. If you have any experience with viewmalaysia redemption, kindly share with us here.

[If a staff of viewmalaysia.com is reading this, please correct me if I am wrong on any of my writing above]

Update: On 16 Nov 2007, almost 3 weeks since I ask for cash redemption, there is still no news of my so called money or commision from View Malaysia. Can I assume that I have been scammed? Damn. I am part of the statistics now. I fell for an online scam. The saddest thing is that this site was created by a Malaysian. :(

Are Malaysians really that gulible? Guys and gals, please think ten times before you try signing up. You might as well donate that RM240 to an orphanage rather than make this scammer a few hundred RM richer. Let us all teach View Malaysia dot com a lesson that we don't condone scams like this in Malaysia. Let us remove all our affiliate links...

yeah..i do agreed that this viewmalaysia.com is a scam. the obvious sign is when you click the info about the company, you will find that there is no contact num for us to call them and even if you try to click further to get more information, 80% of the navigation button ask us to register as a member. From that point it's already make you feel weird with their website content. Thank God I've search through google any comments about this website before I registered myself. and luckily found your comment on this blog.tqvm!

I am not that fortunate. I fell into this scam. When I had made the payment to upgrade my account, I sent an email to the admin showing them the proof of payment as requested. The system said that it will take 24 hours before the account will be upgraded. I waited more than 24 hours. Then, I sent out a few more emails to enquire the status but to no avail. However, a few days later, I checked again and my account was upgraded. The next morning again, I checked again and until now I can't access the website. From my opinion, the website is poorly managed. Even though if it is not a scam, I suggest that everyone will think twice before joining into it. What's the use? You joined but can't operate. Also, please be careful with another website www.vmholiday.com It's another version of viewmalaysia.com but it's for other countries. I believe it's the same admin. It's just so funny. If you check the faq or about us, it's written in malay. You think for a moment, will you ever join something that you can't understand what the programme will do to you? Therefore friends, just be careful when you choose your affiliate partners. It's just so sad that Malaysia have such person. It will somehow affect the image of Malaysian Affiliate industry.

More about viewmalaysia.com

It's getting more and more interesting... further to my previous comment, I got more interesting thing to tell.

So, I paid to upgrade my account from B to A. The system said it'll require 24 hours to upgraI de. But my account was only upgraded after 72 hours. Im still fine with it. But then, the next morning, the system was down and it took more than 1 week before it was up again.

Then, I logged in again and checked my status, I had been downgraded to account B again. It's as if I had never pay for the upgrading which I had did earlier. I sent in emails to ask about the problem but up to now (2 days later) I still don't get any news.

So friends, please don't fall into this trap. I might want to setup a forum soon just to identify all the cheaters on the net. Stay tune!

Agreed in total, this is a scam but unfortunately the member database is getting larger. We are the culprits who help this guy(with fake USA address)becoming richer every single day. Just imagine if I am not mistaken the JF is MYR160/= right?
And this guy called Admin is no way to be contacted.
